Geoprofessional technician and staff member

A small but growing engineering consulting firm and construction materials testing lab (soil, concrete) (civil engineering and construction industry) is looking for someone who would be excited to:

- Work as a laboratory Geoprofessional Technician, performing soil testing in the lab
- Work as a field Geoprofessional Technician and Inspector, performing materials testing and inspection services at construction sites
- Work as a Geoprofessional staff member assisting with field operations and report preparation work.

Apprentices welcome (no experience required; will train). This is for someone who enjoys being out and about at construction sites, new raw land sites, in our lab, not sitting full time behind a desk all day, and likes the diversity/multi-disciplinary nature of the work.

Previous ideal candidates came from different backgrounds (young geology degree holders, civil engineering degree holders who like the appeal of diversity of work environment (field, lab, office) and have an interest in geotechnical specialty, skilled workers from other construction trades who want more stable work, etc. Those with geology or CE degrees will also help prepare geotechnical engineering reports and lab reports.

Must have a driver's license.

Are you a hard (responsible) worker? This is not a job for lazy people and it is not a 9 to 5 position, although most days that works out. We try to avoid weekend work but some Saturday work and some overnight concrete pour events will occur requiring your presence.

PTO/Vacation pay accrued; holiday pay; overtime pay;

Starting pay is $20/hr as an apprentice but goes up as you learn the trade and earn a couple of certifications, up to you how fast.
