Job Description Summary
Key member in Premier Lab Design Project segment, cross-functional collaboration to develop and execute the Furniture growth strategy based on operational effectiveness, process excellence, and profitability.
This role is accountable for:
Premier Lab Design & Furniture renovation/new build projects of complex and diverse systems up to $1M in size.
Establishing oneself as an advanced source within the team to deliver technical accuracy and new products into the customer proposal.
Work directly with project managers and sales team to understand their requirements to alleviate potential problems and propose solutions to those that may occur.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Advanced knowledge of lab furniture market; including new supplier base product introductions and SEFA laboratory standards to determine ideal products to specify in any given project.
- Collaborate within the team to understand customer project requirements and bring forward recommendations, scope of work and submittal package to meet customer’s requirements.
- Has full ownership and is responsible for accuracy and on time delivery of all quotations & scope letters produced throughout the lifecycle of each project, from proposal, shop, fabrication, and installation stages.
- Proactively finds opportunities for margin and lead time improvement with advanced understanding for contract pricing, value engineering and furniture supply chain program.
- Enhanced ability to read specifications, construction documents and architectural drawings potentially greater than 200 pages.
- Researches and acquires special pricing and details for custom items from various vendors as the need arises.
- Builds accurate cost estimates and order processing documents for final communication of job requirements to ensure order accuracy.
- Review post order modifications, estimate cost differences, and reconcile change orders.
- Adhere to schedules and adapt to changes as needed.
- Accountable for self-check of design and take-off for technical and process standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management/Engineering, or Architecture is highly preferred. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree.
- 7+ years in estimation role with direct customer facing and high-volume organization.
- Experience working on lab renovations, shell builds and new construction is extremely helpful.
- Experience with SAP, Salesforce, and CAP Studio is required.
- Experience with Bluebeam is a plus.
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to coordinate their work with our sales force, project management, design, and coordination staff.
- Ability to complete complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read and understand detailed architectural drawings and specifications.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Manages a flexible work schedule with some unexpected and/or short deadlines.
- Validated experience as estimator.
- Good leadership and management skills.
