Embedded Systems Engineer I

**Note: This role works on-site in Madison, WI.** 
 

What will you be doing? 
ELECTRICAL DESIGN & DOCUMENTATION 
  • Design and develop products utilizing both analog and digital electronics 
  • Evaluate designs relative to applicable standards, codes, and requirements 
  • Develop system architectures and schematic diagrams 
  • Specify components including integrated circuits, sensors, and controllers 
  • Write detailed product requirements, engineering specifications, test/assembly specifications and other technical documentation 
  • Present designs to both internal team members and clients, translating highly technical concepts into language and visuals meant for broad audiences 

PROTOTYPING & TESTING  
  • Build, test, and verify prototypes 
  • Create & implement software designs for internal design verification testing 
  • Conduct root cause analyses   
  • Assess and analyze products in the lab and/or field by creating test procedures, selecting appropriate sensors and data acquisition equipment, and programming data acquisition equipment if necessary 
  • Test electronic sensors, controllers, and electrical components to meet performance and regulatory requirements  
 

What does it take to be successful? 
  • Completion of eight (8) related academic courses at the high school level or above; or equivalent combination of academic and work experience 
  • Analog and digital electronics design skills/experience 
  • You’re curious, creative, analytical, and detail-oriented

Salary Range 
$45,000 - $75,000
