Amazon Robotics automates fulfillment center operations using various methods of robotic technology including autonomous mobile robots, sophisticated control software, language perception, power management, computer vision, depth sensing, machine learning, object recognition, and semantic understanding of commands. Amazon Robotics has a dedicated focus on research and development to continuously explore new opportunities to extend its product lines into new areas.

This role is a 6-month Co-Op to join AR full-time (40 hours/week) from January 2023 to June 2023. Amazon Robotics co-op opportunities will be based out of the Greater Boston Area in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough, MA and North Reading, MA. Both campuses provide a unique opportunity to have direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities.

Basic Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a BS or MS in a quantitative and analytically rigorous field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Econometrics, Systems Engineering, Finance, or related field)
  • Must graduate after September 2023
  • Must be eligible and available for a full-time (40h / week) 6-month co-op between January to June 2023
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to succinctly summarize key findings
  • Experience analyzing complex data sets and interpreting data using SQL
  • Experience in at least one modern object-oriented programming language (Ruby, Python, Java) (for Data Science and Data Engineer Roles) OR basic understanding of Python, R, or other relevant scripting language (for Data Analytics and BIE roles)
  • (For Data Analytics and BIE roles) Experience building dashboards in Tableau or other relevant data visualization tool (e.g., Looker, PowerBI, Grafana)
  • (For Data Science and Data Engineer Roles) Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work successfully in an ambiguous environment, to meet tight deadlines, and to prioritize workload even when faced with conflicting priorities
  • Proficient understanding of data modelling, descriptive statistics, and/or applied science
  • Knowledge of AWS (e.g Athena, Sagemaker, S3, EC2, RDS)
  • Experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
  • Previous experience or interest in business intelligence, data engineering, data science, system engineering or operations engineering
  • Quantitative and qualitative data analysis experience with demonstrated impact to a project or business use case, a track record of creative problem solving, and the desire to create and build new processes
  • Experience with machine learning methods
