The program is 3-months in duration and provides everyone an opportunity to gain experience working in assigned engineering areas.
The Protection & Controls (P&C) Engineering team at Eversource is responsible for the design and operation of the devices and systems used to detect abnormal system conditions, such as electrical faults, and take automatic or supervisory control actions to isolate, mitigate, and restore the Transmission and Distribution system.  Internship assignments can either be with the P&C Projects teams, which are focused on design and upgrade of these P&C systems or with the P&C Compliance Standards and Support (CSS) Group which is responsible for the monitoring and analysis of these P&C devices and systems in response to disturbance events.
As an intern, you will assist department engineers and lead engineers with routine and special projects involving the P&C Projects or P&C CSS groups: These projects will include completing activities and assignments associated with improving the safe and reliable design and operation of the electrical transmission and distribution system. You will learn basic utility engineering concepts applicable to the group you are placed in and will also learn the principles of good customer service and electric reliability.
