Summer Intern Program

The PJM Summer Intern Program will teach students the importance of the US Power Grid. This program is designed to build a fundamental understanding of the operation of the power grid from a real-time, system operations perspective, a thorough knowledge of how the wholesale markets operate, and a critical knowledge of the long-term infrastructure planning process, with specific emphasis on data governance, management and usage.

We're looking for students that are pursuing a bachelors degree in Economics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics Operational Research, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Cyber Security or Data Science related fields of study.

Applicants for this position must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. ​

This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements. Please consult with your manager to confirm options for flexibility. Business needs and/or on-call responsibilities may require you to report to campus.


Essential Functions:

Summer interns will get hands-on experience working with Data Science, IT or Engineering to support one of the largest RTO/ISO companies.

Participants will receive exposure and support from current PJM Employees to learn & develop skills to apply educational experience to real work experience.

Participate in a formal mentoring partnership, receive on-going learning opportunities.


Characteristics & Qualifications:

Required:

Students that are pursuing a bachelors degree in Economics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics Operational Research, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Cyber Security or Data Science related fields of study.

GPA: 3.0 or higher out of 4.0 scale

Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail

Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis

Ability to use mathematical and electrical theory

Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support

Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)


Preferred:

Rising Juniors or Seniors pursuing a bachelors degree in Economics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics Operational Research, Electrical Engineering, Cyber Security or Computer Science
