Administrative Manager- Brooklyn, NY

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory’s DNA Learning Center (DNALC) is currently seeking a full-time Administrative Manager for the DNALC NYC in downtown Brooklyn. Located at the corner of Tillary and Jay Street, this 17,500 square foot science center is a destination for school field trips, summer camps and programs for the general public. The Administrative Manager will oversee all office operations and provide general administrative support.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- answering phones, meeting and greeting teachers, students, and visitors
- overseeing building maintenance
- maintaining and purchasing office supplies
- assisting with special projects including marketing, proofreading and editing
- maintaining mailing lists and managing mailings related to events and programs
- maintaining a master calendar, schedules, attendance lists, and follow-ups for programs
- booking school reservations and invoicing
- data collection and entry, with periodic visitation reports
- financial management, including income, payments, budgets and periodic financial reports

The successful candidate will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and must feel comfortable working in a lively, dynamic work environment. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum of two years of customer service or office experience are preferred. Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook is essential, and marketing experience is a plus.

Occasional travel to our Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island DNA Learning Center will be required for training.
