Internship - Engineer

Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
Will assist in the planning and implementation of outages on turbo machinery from initial planning to final completion. Will assist in the repair of gas and steam turbine components. Will assist with reviews of operating status of the units on a periodic basis and tracks component repairs from a technical and financial standpoint. Will learn to develop optimized outage work scopes to reduce the outage turn times and implements throughout the Calpine Turbine fleet. Will learn to develop and maintains specialty tools to reduce outage turn times. Assists plants with developing spare parts inventory and recommendations for outages.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum qualifications include completion of sophomore year and at least 30 credit hours towards bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • In good standing with a GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future for any company.
  • Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Programing skills i.e. Visual Basic or Python, is preferred
  • Must be flexible and able to work harmoniously with others
  • Good organization skills and attention to details are essential
  • Good problem solving and analytical ability
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
