We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Thermal Sciences Practice in Warrenville or Chicago, IL. In this role, you will work as part of a team in the investigation and analysis of industrial processes, combustion systems, thermal fluid systems, and industrial equipment. Projects may include work within the areas of power generation (fossil and concentrating solar), thermal and fluid systems, chemical and process plants, fire and explosion investigation, and consumer products. Future career development and growth will include responsibility for developing client relationships, generating project opportunities and revenue, and hiring and mentoring technical staff.

 You will be responsible for:
  • Conducting field and experimental work
  • Performing engineering calculations and analyses
  • Preparing proposals, literature reviews, and technical reports
  • Gathering information from and conveying technical conclusions to clients, individuals in engineering, the legal profession, business, and industry
  • Assisting with project management

You will have the following skills and qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering will be considered with mechanical engineering experience
  • Experience with the startup and commissioning of combustion, mechanical, and/or fluid handling systems is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Highly self-motivated as demonstrated through presentations at technical conferences and public peer-reviewed journals
  • Intellectual curiosity with a passion to explore a vast array of problems and applications both within and outside of your area of specialization
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment
  • Domestic and international travel will likely be required (approximately 10%)
