Data and Research Analyst- Energy Markets
Gelber & Associates is looking for a Data Analyst eager to work in the energy industry. G&A’s clients are mostly consumers (natural gas, diesel, etc.), whom we provide risk management services such as making procurement and hedging decisions. We also deliver industry renowned markets information, leveraging many different streams of data.The ideal candidate will use their passion for data and analytics to provide insights to the business covering a range of topics within different commodities, but primarily natural gas. They will be responsible for conducting both recurring and ad hoc analysis for internal use as well as our customers. This job is envisioned as a mid to upper level job.Compensation is between $65,000 and $85,000 depending on the qualities of the applicant. The job location is in downtown Houston, Texas on the 17th floor of the JPMorgan Chase Building (not to be confused with JP Morgan Chase tower). The company does not pay any costs associated with re-location.Responsibilities
- Understand the markets that our business is concerned with, which can be better understood with data.
- Compile and analyze data related to forecasting commodity prices, production, demand, and other market fundamentals.
- Improve the design of our spreadsheets, including those that clients interact with.
- Develop clear visualizations to convey complicated data in a straightforward fashion to be used in market reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1 - 2 years’ Data Analysis experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, as well as having other coding abilities will be necessary.
- Experience in the natural gas or other commodities markets is a plus.
