Summer Intern – Energy and Transmission Development

Job Purpose
Pattern Energy is excited to hire our summer 2023 Interns! Pattern’s Summer Internship Program gives undergraduate and graduate students hands-on experience to develop technical skills, as well as a better understanding of the renewable industry. This internship program will run for approximately 10-12 weeks and include a formal welcome, mentorship opportunities, and executive exposure. This is one way that Pattern Energy supports the larger renewable community and invests in the next generation of great minds.
 
Assist the lead project managers in the development of new renewable generation and transmission projects in the United States and Canada. Additionally, provide market research in order to assist in the identification and evaluation of investment opportunities for new development projects.

Key Responsibilities
·      Assist internal and external due diligence teams to evaluate potential investment opportunities and provide input on the overall deal assessment
·      Assist in preparation of management presentations to justifying investment in an opportunity
·      Track project development tasks including permitting, equipment procurement, construction, real estate, feedstock supply, product off-take, electric transmission, schedule, community and government relations, etc
·      Research local and state permitting requirements, focusing on western US markets, including New Mexico & Arizona
·      Research new project development opportunities in western US markets, including New Mexico & Arizona
·      Help develop and track project milestone and critical path activities for project schedules
·      Coordinate and help run team meetings among project stakeholders
·      Support project budgeting and forecasting activities
·      Support the management of SharePoint and tracking of priority projects

Experience/Qualifications/Education Required
Educational Requirements
·      Enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program
. must have at least one semester left before graduation

This position will commence in late May/early June through August 2023.
