Supply Chain Project Manager Internship

As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you’ll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. The Supply Chain Project Manager Intern will own key initiatives that support Thermo Fishers Purchasing & Supplier Relations strategic roadmap. As a Project Manager Intern, you will gain experience leading cross-functional teams, be exposed to leadership via high impact initiatives, sharpen your technical skills, & strengthen your eye for business. Additionally, you will act as business partner to IT, & will collaborate with them to drive Real Time Inventory integrations and improve API call success rate & accuracy. In addition to Purchasing & Supplier Relations, you will work in partnership with a broad group of teams including, IT Teams, Planning, Portfolio Management, and various other functions to support strategic requirements. Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer!
What will you do?
  • Enhance Real Time Inventory (RTI) Program.
  • Work with suppliers and IT Teams to develop RTI capabilities that provide our customers with transparency to available inventory and shipment dates.
  • Improve Real Time Inventory functionality.
  • Lead project(s) within our leaderships 2023 Strategic Initiatives Program.
  • Work with Supply Chain Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to build Business Requirements Document(s).
  • Craft project plan with key milestones, owners, and completion dates.
  • Define and manage key benchmarks to measure business impact of initiatives.
  • Complete timelines by leading project teams, ensuring collaborator engagement, removing barriers, and provide updates to leadership team.
  • Support Project Manager by completing adhoc data analysis, developing metrics/tools, and track return on investment for key initiatives.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities within supply chain functions.
  • Serve as real time inventory SME and engage with the Supplier Relations Team on supplier compliance discussions.
How will you get here?

Education
  • Currently pursuing a Supply Chain or Business Degree.
  • Completion of Undergraduate First year at accredited university.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Results oriented approach with a desire to continuously improve self & processes.
  • Desire to take ownership of initiatives and serve as key point of contact.
  • Excellent business and analytical problem solving ability that will be applied to removing project barriers, and to technical analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products specifically, Excel, SQL Server, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
  • Strong communication skills and a proven track record to lead teams.
