2023 Intern, Medical Excellence

The Role:
Moderna is seeking a highly skilled, and motivated professional candidate to support project focused on building business intelligence capabilities for the Medical Affairs organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to develop skills and learn about the biopharmaceutical industry, Moderna, and Medical Affairs in a supportive environment. We are seeking a candidate who is aligned with Moderna’s culture centered on bold, collaborative, curious, and relentless values, which enable innovation in bringing transformative mRNA-based vaccines and therapeutics to patients. Under the stewardship of Medical Excellence team, the candidate will work closely with different stakeholders in Digital and Medical affairs to ensure the organization is focused on the right projects/activities to support our Medical Affairs’ vision of being a trusted, innovative scientific partner to our healthcare professional community.

Our program offers one start date on Monday, June 5. All applicants must be available for a minimum of 10 weeks to participate in the program.

Here’s What You’ll Do:
  • Support the development of medical affairs KPI and report, in partnership with Digital and data analytics team
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners/agencies to develop best practices on key measurement standards and benchmarks
  • Understand the key roles and responsibilities of compliance, digital innovation, quality and to help support MA operations
  • Identify and map the end-to-end process as it relates to identified projects– from development to execution, including the identification of key subject matter experts and functions that are critical to the process

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
  • A Pharm.D, RN, NP, MPH, or other healthcare professional candidate
  • Familiar with Business Intelligence and data visualization tools, preferred
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and decipher various quantitative and qualitative data into meaningful categories
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), and strong interpersonal and time-management skills
  • Strong problem solving skills, with ability to analyze complex topics into actionable insights
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Boldness to ask relevant questions to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and to support creative problem solving
  • An eagerness to work with all levels of management and consult with key business stakeholders
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and a comfort with learning technical tools/systems relevant to the job function
