2023 Intern, Program Management
The Role:
The Program Management team within Clinical Development at Moderna is responsible for driving program teams forward in the development of novel mRNA medicines for a wide range of diseases and world health. The objective of the Program Management Summer Intern in Clinical Development is to gain a high-level understanding of how program managers help program teams move mRNA medicines through clinical development. This will be accomplished through working with a Program Management Preceptor and within a program team on a workstream or project related to the clinical development goals for one or more programs.
We offer one Summer Internship start date on June 5, 2023. The program is 10-12 weeks in duration. Candidates must be available for a minimum of 10 weeks to participate in the program.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
In partnership with the Program Management Preceptor, the Program Management Intern will provide project management support to a cross-functional program team. This may include but is not limited to:
- Administering day-to-day activities
- Facilitating cross-functional team meetings
- Coordinating discussions to drive decision-making
- Preparing agendas and meeting minutes
- Defining and resolving actions items
- Building and maintaining a master timeline
This will require the Program Management Intern to, at a minimum:
- Develop a base knowledge of mRNA clinical development and decision-making
- Learn how to use PM tools (e.g., smartsheet, MSProject, ThinkCell, excel) to provide direction for your project and team members
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- Currently enrolled candidate for BS/BA or MS in life sciences, business, public health, or related field
- Strong interest in learning about drug development, Project/Program Management as a career
- Must be curious, eager, open to learning, and independent.
- Technical skills: MS office (Smartsheet is a plus).
- Personal attributes: meets timelines, team player, ability to take direction, good communication skills, can work under pressure and meet urgent deadlines.
