2023 Co-op, Identity and Access Management

The Role:
This position will work within Digital’s IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity team based at the Moderna Cambridge, MA or Norwood, MA location. The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to work directly with identity and access management technologies and influence impact to Moderna’s global expansion. The candidate will embrace Moderna “mindsets” and digitize and automate what we do. He/she will collaborate with Digital IT, GMP manufacturing, and quality teams as well as operational technology (OT) device manufacturers.

Our co-op program dates are from January 9th, 2023 – June 16th, 2023. Candidates must be available for the entire duration of the program.

Here’s What You’ll Do:
  • Work with IAM architect, engineers and analysts to understand all aspects of how identity and access management is implemented, concepts of identity governance and lifecycle, access controls, single sign-on, multifactor authentication, role management, etc.
  • Work with multiple IT and business teams to secure new and existing applications, integrating them with the various IAM platforms.
  • Under guidance of IAM architect, develop documentation such as data process flows, design diagrams and technical standards.
  • Become a member of a project team and work on specific project assignments
  • Conduct research on IAM related technologies and vendors
  • Create and deliver presentations
  • Assist IAM team with day-to-day activities as appropriate
  • Evaluate IAM processes and procedures for opportunities for improvement, propose and help to implement relevant modifications

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelors in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, Networking Security; or senior majoring in a related field with previous co-op or intern experience.
  • A high level of initiative, a strong work ethic, creativity and the ability to balance multiple concurrent projects
  • Knowledge of IAM standards and protocols desired
  • Experience in the areas of identity management, authentication, access management, role-based access, access certifications, or privileged access preferred
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products, including advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of web applications, web servers, layer 7 application technologies, frameworks and protocols with respect to application development and deployment.
