Intern, IT Analyst

POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to assist with support for End User Technology Needs, User Administration, and New User Computer Deployment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Key Accountabilities:
Support End User Technology Needs

  • Respond to employee needs in person or via email, phone, Zoom, or remote desktop software to provide break/fix support for PC/laptop hardware, operating systems, applications, printers, video conference system, etc.
  • Use helpdesk management system to manage customer support requests

User Administration

  • Onboard new users by creating all new user account information Active Directory, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, phone system, video conference, intranet, etc.
  • Assist with Sarbanes Oxley documentation gathering activities
  • Maintain asset management system

New User Computer Deployment

  • Responsible for executing PC setup and desktop image deployment for all new users following guides for accuracy
  • Maintain and execute PC deployment imaging system
  • Install PC hardware peripherals including; docking stations, printers, monitors, keyboards, mice, video conference cameras, and etc.
  • Install printer hardware and other drivers as needed
  • Train users as needed

Other frequent duties:

  • Provide recommendations on company computer desktop/laptop systems and hardware purchases
  • Assist System/Network Administrators as needed in scaling network and turning up new branch office sites
  • Assist System/Network Administrators as needed by building new servers, configuring Ethernet switches, or firewalls as needed
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with clients and turn them into a win for the desktop support team
  • Solve issues desk side and via remote desktop and in person

Perform other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be available for daily work and overtime as required
  • Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers (oral and written)
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to use office equipment (computer, copy/fax machine, telephone, etc.)
  • Organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines
  • Provide suggestions to offer alternative perspectives to situations
  • Work independently or with others as a team to complete assigned projects
  • Must have valid driver’s license and be qualified to drive company vehicles

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Required: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree –Information Technology or related degree
**Senior, Junior, or Sophomore status preferred
Experience Required: Desktop support experience, preferably in multi-location environment with windows operating systems
**Business environment experience, relevant courses, club participation and internship preferred

Skills Required
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Advanced desktop support - client side or remote
•Build and deploy/setup client personal computers
•Ability to maintain desktop deployment methods or imaging software
•Install and configure host-based antivirus software 
•Desktop – Windows 10 installation, support, patching, and troubleshooting
•Windows networking TCP/IP Configuration and troubleshooting
•Ability to modify system registry 
•Advanced support of Office 2013, 2016, and 2019
•Troubleshoot network printers
•Thorough understanding of Active Directory - client side
•Demonstrated experience providing support with remote tools
•Install and troubleshoot 3rd party applications on the desktop
•Ability to install and update device drivers

Special skills or knowledge preferred:
•Network skills relating to Ethernet switch configuration
•Network skills relating to Firewall and VPN configuration
•VMware and Virtualization technologies
•Experience with backup systems and software
•PowerShell experience
•Ability to troubleshoot wireless network problems – client side
