Scientific Project Manager

The Tuveson Laboratory at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) is seeking a Scientific Project Manager to help oversee the lab’s portfolio of organoid research projects. CSHL is a world-renowned non-profit scientific research facility on Long Island. Nestled within this dynamic research campus, the Tuveson Lab makes novel discoveries into the biology of pancreatic cancer. As part of this exciting research, the research team is developing patient-derived organoids as a novel, precision-medicine based approach to identify more effective treatments for patients with pancreatic cancer.

The Scientific Project Manager will become familiar with the lab’s organoid research projects, will ensure that regulatory requirements for the projects are met, and will ensure projects are completed in a timely manner. More specifically, the Scientific Project Manager will develop project timelines, track milestones, communicate scientific progress towards milestones with the principal investigator, track reporting deadlines, develop and maintain approvals from the CSHL Institutional Review Board, aid in developing and maintaining relationships with clinical partners, complete paperwork needed to receive clinical specimens, serve as an interface with the CSHL Advancement Department and Office of Sponsored Programs to ensure reporting requirements are met, request descriptions of scientific progress from researchers as needed for reporting, coordinate and draft sections of progress reports, help edit or format project-relevant scientific documents, and aid in drafting documents needed for submission of new grants pertaining to organoids.

Position Requirements
Qualifications: 
Education: Master’s degree.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of scientific project management experience required. The candidate should have experience drafting and editing documents related to progress reporting and/or documents included in a grant submission. The candidate should be familiar with common office software, including Microsoft Office and video conference software. Prior experience putting together scientific grants or progress reports or drafting submissions to institutional review boards is helpful.
Skills: Must have exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills. Must be able to work independently and effectively prioritize. Must be able to able to work with faculty, students, and staff from diverse cultural backgrounds.
