Controls Engineer - Hardware

The Controls Engineer – Hardware role will be responsible for utilizing technical skills to apply controllers, passive and smart sensors, electronically controlled actuators, HMIs and other electro-mechanical devices to industrial natural gas engines.
In addition, you will:
 Be responsible for the identification, application, validation and release of core electrical/electronic hardware components for engine control systems (sensors, actuators, controllers, HMIs)
· Work with internal and external stakeholders to specify and procure control hardware for design, validation, and production release
· Be responsible for the validation of the hardware components with modern test methods (lab tests, accelerated tests, test on engine and field validation)
· Execute the prototype tests for new components
· Support development of engine control algorithms utilizing new sensors and actuators
· Use simulation techniques for rapid prototyping and product development
· Provide support to other functional areas for the transition from product development to release
· Provide testing, analysis, technical support and direction to other functional areas on resolving manufacturing, procurement, quality, service, and reliability problems as necessary
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering from an accredited College or University

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience applying controllers, sensors and/or actuators

· Experience applying sensors, and actuators to automotive or industrial engines
· Practical experience in test methodologies for hardware components
· Experience with simulation and modeling programs in industrial applications
· Experience troubleshooting with Controller Area Network (CAN) communications and electronic hardware
· Organizational skills required to manage multiple projects and/or activities
· Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing, oral, listening and presentation skills
