Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking an Accountant to join our team. The candidate must be well organized, with attention to detail and exceptional interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
• Payroll and effort distributions and associated reallocations and cost transfers
• Journal entry preparation
• Assisting in month and year-end closes
• Sub-award risk assessments
• Fellowship set up and review of salary and fringe allocations
• Monitoring cost shares
• Monthly review and tracking of award and gift receivables
• Assisting with financial analysis and other reporting
Position Requirements
The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting or Finance, and 1-2 years of auditing experience in public accounting. Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
 Knowledge of Lawson Software and not-for-profits a plus.

A current CPA license or eligibility to take the NY State CPA exam is a plus.

Grant-related experience is a plus
