Entry-Level Designer, Engineering/Architecture

Job Summary:
 
•       As an Electrical Engineer in Training (EIT)/Electrical Designer, you will work in our office and remotely with engineering teams of Architects and ME/EE (P.E.) Engineers to design technical solutions to meet our client’s business needs. You will work with senior licensed engineers and experienced designers to help design power distribution and lighting systems for manufacturing, distribution, and other industrial and commercial facilities. Will work under the direction of Lead, Licensed Electrical Engineers, and is on a career path to becoming a licensed Electrical Engineer themselves
•       As a Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT)/Mechanical Designer, you will work in our office and remotely with engineering teams of Architects and ME/EE (P.E.) Engineers to design technical solutions to meet our client’s business needs. You will work with other engineers and experienced designers to design facility mechanical systems including HVAC, steam systems, compressed air, and plumbing systems for custom industrial applications for manufacturing, distribution, and other industrial and commercial facilities. Will work under the direction of Lead, Licensed Mechanical Engineers, and is on a career path to becoming a licensed Mechanical Engineer themselves
•       As an Architectural Designer, you will work in our office and remotely with engineering teams of Architects and ME/EE-Engineers to create architectural design solutions for our teams and for our client’s manufacturing, distribution, industrial and commercial facilities. Will work under the direction of Registered Architects, and is on a career path to becoming a Registered Architect themselves

Responsibilities:
 
  • Work on multi-discipline project teams and collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, to engineer and design solutions for our client’s manufacturing, distribution, industrial and commercial facilities.
  • Read and interpret design drawings and specifications.
  • Work on multiple projects at a time
  • Mechanical Designers will design facility mechanical systems including water, chilled water, wastewater, HVAC, cooling towers/condensers, boiler/steam or hot water systems, compressed air, and other plumbing systems for custom, industrial applications using Revit.
  • Electrical Designers will create electrical designs for manufacturing power distribution systems and will work on projects for low & medium voltage electrical distribution systems. To include: MCC's, generators, transformers, low voltage substations, UPS.
  • Architectural Designers will help define facility program requirements based on the client’s needs, conduct code research specific to project sites, and create floor plans, code summaries, scoping documents, and renderings as needed to communicate concepts and scope of work to the Client.

Requirements:
 
  • Co-Op/internship, part-time, full-time employment, or project experience related to engineering, consulting, facility design, construction management, drafting, or architecture.
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus/community service activities is preferred.
  • Any experience in the design of facilities for food/beverage, Pharma/life science or consumer products manufacturing and distribution is highly desired.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with our valued team members and clients.
  • Excellent computer skills including Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word (either academic or professional).
  • Willing and able to travel as necessary for project requirements to include but not be limited to: project installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, or conventions, etc.

Education/Licensure:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following majors: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering (Structural concentration), Architecture or equivalent related ABET certified degree plan.
  • Passing score on the Fundamentals Exam for EIT licensure will be required if you wish to become a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or licensed Architect.
