Materials Science & Chemistry Engineering Coop Student

Responsibilities


Candidate will assist in analysis of materials and chemicals used in the production of high reliability electronic systems. The student will assist in failure analysis and characterization of fielded hardware and materials and will perform physical, mechanical and chemical analyses on these materials. The student will assist in characterizing those chemical and physical properties important in manufacturing those systems. We will also be evaluating how those materials perform when deployed over time. Course work in physical chemistry or analytical chemistry a plus. A successful candidate will have some familiarity with one or more of the following techniques: infrared spectroscopy, gas chromatography, or liquid chromatography.
 

Qualifications


Individual must be well organized, responsible and dependable. Enrollment in a four-year physical science or engineering degree program required. Qualified candidates will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Full time (40 hrs/week) is expected for the co-op period.  
 
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
