Job Description

This position supports location Operations in materials management and facility maintenance (ensuring consistent material workflow, inventory and facility reliability and performance). This position’s responsibilities include performing every element of processing the flow of materials from receipt thru the shipping of finished product to customers, stocking and Kanban management. The Materials Handling & Facilities Specialist also performs activities in support of facility maintenance and modification.

  • Tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
Materials Management
Responsible for coordination of Materials Management with Procurement and Facilities Manager including:
Shipping
  • Pack outbound products
  • Assist in preparing pro forma invoices for shipping
  • Communicate tracking numbers of shipped materials
Receiving
  • Perform material receiving
  • For procured items - confirm materials tie between purchase orders with packing list
  • For test samples – transfer samples to be tested to appropriate department and assist with organization of completed samples for storage
  • Log product receipt for consumables
  • Stock and/or deliver consumable supplies to appropriate locations/departments
  • Communicate receipt of product and discrepancies, as applicable, to appropriate staff
Inventory Management
  • Maintain appropriate inventory and organize common supplies (including use of Kanban cards as applicable)
  • Segregate expired material to prevent use and ensure proper disposition
  • Perform cycle counts as required
Facilities Maintenance Assistance
Responsible for coordination of facilities maintenance and modification with Procurement and Facilities Manager including:
  • Communicate of priorities of facilities maintenance to Maintenance Specialist, contractor, or vendor
  • Installation, movement, and maintenance of company-wide equipment and facilities
  • Maintenance and review of repair log
  • Ensure documentation of equipment maintenance on appropriate maintenance logs
  • General cleaning and maintenance (including waste removal as needed)

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer proficiency (Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) a plus
