Data Analyst/Programmer in a Stanford Neuroscience Research Laboratory

Work schedule: full time or 20+ hours/week
The Raymond Lab in the Stanford Department of Neurobiology is looking for someone with programming and/or data analysis skills to join our research team. Our research investigates the neural mechanisms of learning and meta-learning. We are seeking a colleague to work with closely with the experimentalists in our lab to develop new data acquisition and data analysis algorithms to achieve evolving neuroscientific objectives.

Core Duties:
- Apply sophisticated statistical and machine learning approaches to complex data sets.
- Guide interpretation of experimental results.
- Contribute to the design of new experimental protocols and data acquisition algorithms.
- Actively participate in lab meetings, offering suggestions on all projects in the lab.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics or related field.
- Experience writing computer software and applying statistical or machine learning approaches to real world data analysis problems.
- Experience with version control tools (GitHub, SourceTree)
- Experience troubleshooting/debugging software & systems related issues
- Expertise with Python, Matlab.
- Motivated, independent, attention to detail
