Sr Project Engineer - Data, Heila (Remote)
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
-Design, develop, test, and deploy data ingestion, curation, retrieval, transformation, and archiving solutions.
-Design and build data structures and pipelines that are secure, efficient, reliable, and scalable.
-Facilitate knowledge sharing by owning and maintaining comprehensive documentation on architecture and processes.
-Contribute to the development of Heila’s automated test and build infrastructure.
-Partner with Product and Engineering teams to support product scoping and roadmap / architecture discussions.
-Push company innovation efforts and stay up to date on industry trends and best practices.
-Work collaboratively across the Engineering Team to define key milestones and manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
-Foster positive and effective business relationships at all levels.
Skills/Requirements
-5+ years working in data modeling and data processing in both SQL & NoSQL contexts.
-Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in EE, CE, CS or equivalent.
-Experience programming in Java and/or Python, use of infrastructure as code.
-Applied architecture and design of data warehouse and/or data lake infrastructure.
-Fundamental knowledge of software engineer best practices, agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines.
-Ability to debug and solve problems in unfamiliar code bases and environments.
-Interest in learning about control and optimization systems used in DER projects.
-Interest in learning about DER equipment and applications – including solar arrays, batteries, generators, fuel cells, among others.
-Interest in learning about resilience and economic use cases in DER projects.
