Purpose

Job Summary
The 2-Year Avangrid Engineering Development Program is designed to
provide a range of development activities, focused on Electrical, Civil
or Mechanical engineering, to help recent university graduates establish
critical skills as they gain a well-rounded experience within our
organization.
These carefully structured experiences will expose participants to each
of the key elements of our development process:
•   Close cooperation between employee and management
•   Ongoing coaching and mentoring Cross-functional exposure
The 2-year rotational development program is designed to develop
critical skills by providing participants an opportunity to experience a
range of placement assignments and environments as they establish broad
experience within Engineering. The rotational experiences will help
develop a view of the "big picture" and capabilities in numerous areas
important to engineering. These rotations could include experiences
Orange, CT, Rochester/Binghamton, NY and Augusta/Portland, ME.

Responsibilities

The core of this program consists of rotating job assignments. For each
assignment, participants will be required to meet specific outcomes and
execute project plans. Each rotation starts with setting goals based on
the competencies sought in a leader.
An appraisal is performed at the end of each rotation to assess the
participant’s performance overall and specific to the goals established
for that rotation.
Along with rotations, members also are given opportunities to work on
Process Improvement projects that relate to their rotations.

Skills and Requirements

BSEE required
0-2 years of experience (Industry Related)
•    Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering
•    Solid academic standing with a GPA of 3.2 and above
•    Engineering co-op or internship experience preferred;
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
•    Demonstrated strong leadership and/or proven technical skills;
•    Highly motivated and takes initiative;
•    Able to relocate for positions as required.
 
Technical Skills/Competencies
•   Theoretical Engineering knowledge - Planning, Operations and
Engineering Design, Analytic, modeling & Calculation, understanding the
business model; Global View of the Business (Values cross-functional
collaboration, understands importance of growing knowledge and
developing relationships and links across the organization)

•   Practical engineering experience/application - Planning,
Operations and Engineering Design, Construction, (e.g. field experience,
standardization "Perform economic analyses of engineering alternatives,
develop business cases and defend in front of stakeholders.")

•   Engineering documentation – Ability to adequately document and
interpret engineering documentation
