Communications Internship

Communications Intern Role
 
Nomi Network combats human trafficking by creating pathways to safe employment, empowering women and girls to break cycles of slavery in their families and communities.

Location: Remote
Hours: 10-20 hrs / week (flexible around your schedule)
Dates: Mid September- Mid-December

Compensation
*This is an unpaid internship, but it can be eligible for school credit.
 
Position Description: 
Nomi Network is looking to hire a Communications Intern to support our HQ team. This role is perfect for someone who loves writing, is creative, and interested in working with a small and fast-growing nonprofit fighting human trafficking globally.

Qualifications:

  • Working toward a college degree (preferably junior level and up), preferably in Communications/ Journalism / Marketing
  • Must be computer literate (working knowledge of Microsoft/Google Suite)
  • Firm grasp of social media tools and platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, etc.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Self-starter, good time management, creative, with ability to communicate in a professional manner
  • Ability to work well independently, and within a team
  • Previous internship or related experience in communications is a plus
Tasks:
 
  • Help rewrite and edit impact stories from the field
  • Create social media posts and captions from impact stories
  • Assist in planning, writing and managing social media posts
  • Copyedit marketing materials
  • Archive stories into our database
  • Monitor and research influencers, trending topics and tools.
  • Manage social media engagement to grow our Instagram following
  • Occasionally assist grant writer with research and writing tasks

  • Passionate about Nomi Network’s mission
  • Social Media Savvy
  • An excellent communicator and writer with content creation skills 
  • Adept in graphic design and visual storytelling
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Genuinely enthusiastic about creating compelling marketing materials to support funding and awareness
* Enrollment in a Bachelor/Master’s degree program at the time of the internship is required (certificate programs are not eligible)
