Work Study: Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant supports Theatre management and staff through a variety of tasks related to the day to day operations of the venue.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Carries out administrative duties such as filing of receipts and documents, copying, binding, scanning, responding to messages, etc.
- Supports Management Staff in special projects
- Maintains an organized work environment
- Develops and updates administrative systems to make them more efficient
- Empties out office recycling and trash
- Ensures office supplies are stocked and organized
- Keeps up with bi-weekly work study paperwork for filing with UT
- Fills in as Box Office Assistant in times of special circumstance
- Qualifies ticket orders
- Supports The VORTEX with marketing and publicity efforts
- Attends opening nights and helps plan and execute the after-show reception
- Assists with outgoing mail and bill payment
- Picking up and dropping off print materials as needed
- Works as a member of the team to accomplish various organizational and operational projects
- Keeps the dressing room and actors bathroom clean and tidy
- Checks with bar and box office to maintain back up cash
- Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Responds in a timely manner to emails and other communications
- Acts professionally as an advocate and representative of The VORTEX
