OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
The individual will join a dynamic group of researchers in the lab of Dr. Bill Sellers in various efforts to develop technologies that may lead to novel therapeutic insights in cancer. The individual will assist a multidisciplinary team of scientists in performing a variety of assays aimed at studying small molecule–protein interactions and will be largely independent on a daily basis after training. The successful candidate is also expected to make intellectual contributions and assist in project planning and experimental design. The candidate might also assist in bioinformatics and database tools to streamline this project. The individual will interact and collaborate closely with other scientists and will be involved in a series of research activities, including collaborative efforts between research groups, and the verbal and written communication of science.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with recombinant protein expression, purification, quality and quantity assessment, and in vitro assays analyzing small molecule – protein interactions.
  • Learn and help develop pipelines of mammalian tissue culture and phenotypic readouts using genetic and small molecule perturbations.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to complete investigations.
  • Document, compile, and analyze experimental data. Report data to team in oral and written reports.
