2022-2023: Petroleum Engineer Intern

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Production and Reservoir Engineer Interns located in:

  • Bakersfield, California
  • Covington, Louisiana
  • Houston, Texas
  • Midland, Texas
  • Denver, Colorado

Petroleum Engineering Interns will be assigned as either a production or reservoir engineering position with a project that will contribute value to Chevron. Projects will be matched with interns based on degree pursued and previous internship experience. Examples include: drilling optimization, reservoir studies, reservoir simulation studies and field development projects. Interns will be provided with a mentor to provide guidance on their projects. Positions can be either field or office based.

Required Qualifications:

  • Students pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong academic performance in core programs, communication, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • This position may require driving on a routine basis.

Preferred Qualifications (Chevron Technology Center):

  • Experience in research, technology development or consulting.
  • Previous experience in an integrated oil or international service company intern program.
  • Participation in an industry or energy company university research project.
