Postdoctoral Fellowships Study the epidemiology of Burkitt lymphoma (BL) and associated risk factors

Dr. Sam M. Mbulaiteye at the Infection and Immunoepidemiology Branch is seeking an applicant with strong epidemiology or genetics training, who is interested in cancer, infectious diseases, and/or international health to study Burkitt lymphoma. Projects may include analysis of data from questionnaires or laboratory data from testing of biospecimens, including blood, saliva or tumor tissue to inform on the etiology and biology of Burkitt lymphoma. Approaches used to test hypotheses include using data from the EMBLEM case-control study (https://emblem.cancer.gov/), unique multi-regional BL databases, GWAS, HLA, microarray platforms and integrative analyses.
The successful candidate will be mentored to achieve their goals, progressing to greater independence during the fellowship. More experienced fellows looking to careers in international health are welcome.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in epidemiology or a related field, have a strong interest in Burkitt lymphoma, infectious disease (Plasmodium falciparum and Epstein Barr virus), immunity, genetics, and global healthy/oncology. More experienced fellows who want to strengthen their career path in global oncology/international health are welcome.
