Project Manager - Nevada Conservation Corps

The Great Basin Institute (GBI) is a dynamic, interdisciplinary field studies organization dedicated to promoting environmental research, education, and conservation throughout the West. The Nevada Conservation Corps (NCC), a program within the GBI, launched in 1999 with the goal of harnessing the energy and idealism of youth to meet the needs of our public lands and communities through habitat restoration, invasive species control, forestry, trail building, and community conservation events. With our AmeriCorps grant we have been able to provide that experience to thousands of members, NCC provides valuable training and workforce development opportunities for staff and corps members who seek careers in natural resource management.

The Nevada Conservation Corps crews work in Nevada and California. These crews implement a wide variety of work for and in support of Federal Land Management Agencies, State Agencies, and others. Example projects include trail work, ecological restoration and hazard fuels reduction. Many of our crews work in remote field locations on multi-day backcountry field tours.
