The Neurobiology lab of Casper Hoogenraad is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to perform original basic research in the area of neurobiology. The focus of the lab is to use biochemical, molecular and imaging approaches to study fundamental cell biological mechanisms with a specific focus on neuronal and glia cell biology.
The lab has access to state-of-the-art mass spectrometry facilities, Cryo-EM structural biology groups, automation for high-throughput screening, access to libraries of small molecule compounds as well as access to in vivo mouse model development.
Applicants should have a relevant Ph.D. with a strong research background in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry and/or biophysics. The qualified candidate will have experience in a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques (tissue culture, IPSC, IP western and mass spec, siRNA/CRISPR) using primary cells. Experience with live cell imaging and new microscopy techniques, including TIRF imaging, super-resolution microscopy and/or other fluorescence-based technologies is desired. A track record of completing challenging scientific problems independently and creatively, exemplified by publications of research in high-quality scientific journals is required.
