Accounting Analyst (Hybrid Work Schedule)

General Description:
The Accounting Analyst will provide project accounting and reporting assistance related to EDPR NA Distributed Generation’s operating solar projects and projects under construction. This position will be on a hybrid remote work schedule, working three days in the office and two days from home.

Main accountabilities:
  • Record, classify and summarize financial transactions in SAP enterprise software for operational and development projects in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (U.S. GAAP)
  • Analyze relevant contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment
  • Prepare reconciliations to properly support account balances
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement variance analyses
  • Develop reports for financial and managerial reporting, forecasting, trending, and results analysis
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions
  • Assist with preparation of documents for annual financial statement audits
  • Recommend improvements in policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with internal clients, including Project Controls, Finance, and Tax
  • Additional duties as required

Travel: up to 10%

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience
  • Some knowledge of SAP, or similar ERP system, preferred
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred.

Physical demands & working conditions:
  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment

  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
