Business Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW
TMC seeks a high potential, early career individual for our open Business Analyst position. This position has a track record of producing highly effective leaders who go on to assume broad strategic and operational roles across our company. This role will work closely with the leadership team to produce key analytical insights across business lines. This role will have in-depth exposure to all aspects of TMC's core businesses, internal operations, strategy, and leadership team.
This position will work directly with the Operations, Strategy, and Finance team leadership.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
·      Perform financial and data analysis to drive process improvement and effective decision-making within the business units
·      Conduct industry, market, competitor, and financial analysis to identify insightful implications for business units
·      Work with business unit leaders to identify and pursue projects to drive capital efficiency, profitability, and progress towards achieving TMC's strategic vision
·      Build and vet business cases for new ventures, investments, or business lines
·      Support TMC Strategic Planning Process
 
KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS
 
Work experience
 
·      1-3 Years’ experience in management consulting, business development, or other similar business analytical focused roles
·      Demonstrated ability to structure difficult or ambiguous business problems and methodically produce solutions
·      Ability to use data modeling tools to provide a more comprehensive understanding of TMC business and operations
·      Experience in conducting business analysis and reporting the results in clear written form, and in synthesizing and presenting findings
Education / Qualifications
·      Bachelor’s degree with a preference for Business, Finance, Economics, or STEM fields
·      Exceptional analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills
·      Strong oral and written communication skills, including building and giving presentations
·      Intellectual curiosity and agility
·      Ability to collaborate and work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
·      Ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas effectively - both verbally and in writing
·      Independent thinking and data-driven decision making
·      Experience in typical business software solutions: Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
·      Willingness to give and receive specific, objective feedback
·      Ability to discuss reasoning, critical assessment of facts and opinions; ability to build and deliver comprehensive answers and arguments
·      Highly collaborative working style, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple and large workstreams
