Civil Engineer III

FTN is seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer to join our team in the Little Rock, Arkansas office. The selected candidate will work on multi-disciplinary teams of design engineers, scientists and technicians focused on the development of study and design phase deliverables including reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, drawings and specifications. The candidate must be capable of working closely with clients to ensure their expectations of service are exceeded. FTN prides itself on hiring innovative problem solvers. This position will be responsible for engineering calculations, analyses and detailed design for a variety of projects, including but not limited to:
  1. Civil site works
  2. Drainage and flood control improvements
  3. Dams, impoundments and outlet control structures
  4. Wastewater collection, pumping and treatment facilities
Other typical duties of this position may include:
 
  1. Coordinates work of junior technical professionals, CAD technicians, engineering technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments
  2. Acts as technical advisor to junior professional staff
  3. Assist in developing marketing plan, marketing water resource related design projects, and helping identify and pursue project opportunities with current clients
  4. Develops detailed work plans consisting of quality criteria, manpower budgets, and schedules; and manage resources to ensure deadlines and budgets are met
  5. Reviews reports, drawings, computations, model results, and other project documents for technical accuracy, quality, general conformance to project criteria and FTN standards
  6. Stays abreast of new and innovative approaches to stormwater management challenges
 
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from a four-year ABET-accredited engineering program
  2. Registered as an EI
  3. 3 to 7 years of previous design experience of water resource related projects
  4. Strong written and oral communications skills
  5. Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Civil3D, MS Office products
  6. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

 Preferred Skills:
  1. Masters of science degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  2. Strong working knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic models (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, etc.)
  3. Registered as a Professional Engineer or ability to become a registered PE within 12 months of hire
