Environmental Engineer
HRP’s Clifton Park, NY office has an immediate full-time opportunity for an Environmental Engineer with 0 to 3 years of experience- with experience working in either a consulting firm, or manufacturing operation, or combination thereof. The candidate will have the opportunity to collect project data from client sites, navigate environmental regulations, and complete permit applications on a wide variety of projects and should possess curiosity, drive, and ambition. Responsibilities:
Working with senior level staff to develop a working knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations and guidelines, governing assigned work responsibilities in program areas including:
- Clean Air Act (Air emissions, calculations and permitting from various sources)
- EPA Risk Management Program
- EPRCA Tier 2 and Form R reporting
- Clean Water Act (storm water, wastewater, DMR’s, permitting)
- RCRA- Hazardous Waste and Solid Waste Management, UST’s
- OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Experience or desire to participate in Environmental, Health and Safety Training for work responsibilities identified above
- Environmental compliance audits (multi-media)
Job Requirements:
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
- Strong engineering math and chemistry skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents
- Strong technical writing skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
Individuals must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills and be proficient in MS Office products and appropriate professional level software. Specific qualifications for the role include:
- BS degree in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, Meteorology, or technically related field
- Possess EIT certification or ability to obtain within one year of employment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Preferred:
- Experience or ability to learn air and water modeling programs such as AERSCEEN, MARPLOT, SCREEN3
- Experience in Environmental Compliance, preferably in a consulting environment
