Environmental Protection Specialist

Duties

You will:
  • Develop and monitor the implementation of non-regulatory strategies and approaches to reduce or prevent pollution and conserve natural resources.
  • Provide administrative, programmatic and technical information and assistance to stakeholders on their activities to promote a multimedia approach to pollution prevention/source reduction.
  • Develop policy analyses of pollution prevention regulations, directives, and programs.
  • Develop strategies and plans for communicating non-regulatory approaches and policy decisions and programmatic information to affected and interested parties.

Qualifications

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as developing technical information related to environmental regulations and/or chemical safety.
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as developing technical information related to environmental regulations and/or chemical safety and assisting with the development of organizational policies/procedures used to oversee regulatory or non-regulatory approaches to chemical safety and/or management.
