Cloud Security Engineer

As a cloud security engineer on our team, you are the backbone of our strategic initiatives and will be responsible for developing technology critical to the success of our projects as well as national security.
You will be working on a team that is building a cloud-based development environment. You will work with a multi-disciplinary collaborative team of hardware, software engineers, and security specialists to design and implement a secure cloud-based software development and maintenance environment. You will be part of our employee-owned international research and engineering company. ARA is recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences, and you will be on this team.
Cloud Security Engineer Required Experience & Skills:
- Due to the work you’ll perform and interactions with DoD programs you will need to be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field along with 2-4 years relevant work experience
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Experience with the Risk Management Framework
- Experience with Vulnerability Management and scanning tools such as ACAS
- Experience with Security Control Testing (NIST 800 53 CNSSI 1253)
- Event Management Auditing (Splunk, ELK, EFK)
- Malware Protection (Antivirus, HBSS, etc)
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), and the provisioning of various services and infrastructure
- Ability to apply Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) to a variety of technologies to include Windows, Linux, etc.
- Relocation to Raleigh, NC or San Antonio, TX
Cloud Security Engineer Preferred Experience & Skills:

- Experience with Account Management (Active Directory, etc)
- Experience configuring Splunk ELK EFK NiFi
- Experience with CloudFormation templates
- Experience with DevOps technologies including Terraform
- Familiar with containers, container security (NIST 800 190), and Zero Trust Architecture
- Comfortable scripting and automating (Python, YAML, JSON, etc)
