Plant Operator - Bradley, IL - JR19210

You will join our Wastewater Operations department
We are seeking a full-time Plant Operator for an operations project in Northampton, Massachusetts. The Plant Operator performs a wide range of mid-complex to complex tasks encompassing field assignments based on client requirements.
Responsibilities:

  • Performing daily operations and maintenance of treatment plant.
  • Completing minor routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Demonstrating good interpersonal skills.
  • Applying a working knowledge of fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology in carrying out assignments.
  • Understanding and applying standard policies and procedures within specific discipline.
  • Operating facilities with computer or PLC controls.
  • Monitoring, regulating, and adjusting chlorinators, chemical feed pumps, and other process equipment.
  • Collecting samples and performing routine in-lab tests as required.
  • Maintaining a log of operations and maintenance activities and related records.
  • Operating system to maintain compliance with permit requirements.
  • Washing clarifiers, dissolved air flotation systems, contact basins, operates sludge handling equipment and other process unit equipment, as required.
  • Having good knowledge of the practices used, and the equipment required in the O&M of industrial facilities and ability to make routine laboratory and field tests for control of plant operations.
  • Possibly operating a variety of the following types of equipment: forklift, aerial or scissor lifts, generator, compressors, pumps etc.
  • Participating actively in creating a safety culture at the jobsite.
  • Adhering to the policies and standards set forth in the Firm’s Project Delivery Manual (PDM), Employee Manual and Corporate Health & Safety Manual.

  • High School Diploma / Vocational training or equivalent.
  • Applicable health & safety training.
  • Typically, 5+ years’ experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Wastewater operator licenses not required, but preferred.
  • Must have and maintain valid driver license.
  • Having the ability to perform basic control laboratory testing and understanding and applying results.
Having good record-keeping skills, being comfortable with computers and computer-controlled equipment, and capable of learning new operating, maintenance, analytical or computer skills.
Physical Requirements:       
Climb stairs and ladders. Bend, lean, twist to perform parts of the job. Lift up to 50 pounds. Medical clearance for respirator usage. May be required to enter Confined Spaces. Work in hot or cold weather. Utilize tools needed to troubleshoot and complete repairs.
