You will join our Water Resources Management department. As our new Geophysicist you will be part of a team covering a wide range of disciplines, expertise and topics.  Examples include integrated water resources management, assessment of the demand for water for drinking and commercial purposes, groundwater mapping and surface water monitoring, simulation and modelling of the hydrologic cycle, water assessments, drought impacts and water supply resiliency studies, legislation, river basin management, institutional and capacity building and water resources protection.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be one of near-surface geophysics via ground based and airborne techniques, with a focus on groundwater exploration. Duties include:

  • Technical evaluations and consulting with clients
  • Conducting field work
  • Data processing and analysis
  • Hydrogeological Interpretations
  • Integrating geophysical methods with groundwater modeling
  • Development of technical deliverables and reporting
  • Coordinating with international experts
  • Performing geophysical work in states throughout the US and abroad
  • Writing proposals and client business development support
Your starting point and personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:

  • 2+ years of experience.
  • Experience in using electrical and electromagnetic geophysical methods. Seismic and geophysical borehole logging competencies is a plus.
  • Project leadership at task level
  • Ability and willingness to participate in field work and data collection.
  • Ability to use geophysical processing and inversion software, as well as GIS.
  • Experience with machine learning for relating geophysical measurements and hydraulic properties
  • Understanding of groundwater management principles and use of airborne electromagnetic methods to assess saltwater intrusion, land subsidence, aquifer delineation, managed aquifer recharge siting etc.
  • Excellent writing and oral presentation skills.
  • US resident, preferably near Ramboll US offices in southern, midwestern, or western states.
