Energy Contract Administrator

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting Tenaska Power Services Co. with all contract activities, including document preparation and management, contract review, transaction confirmations, all registrations for energy market regions, and all state and county regulatory registrations and filings.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist the Origination and Legal departments with the review, negotiation, and execution of all agreements, including EEI and ISDA Master Agreements, Energy Management and Service Agreements, Confidentiality and Vendor Agreements
  • Assist Credit department with the review, negotiation, and execution of parent guaranties and letters of credit
  • Ensure the accuracy of physical and financial transaction details through comparison of counterparty and TPS transaction confirmations
  • Maintain DocMinder systems for contract reminders and notices
  • Maintain ETRM Trade Management System and Sharepoint with contract and counterparty information
  • Prepare and submit regulatory compliance filings as required
  • Serve as back-up for other contract administrators
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve the organization’s success
  • Dependable, reliable, and predictable attendance is required

Education/Experience/Skills
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in the energy industry
  • Paralegal background a plus
  • Experience in contract negotiation a plus
  • Oral and written Spanish a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word; proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint a plus
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle assignments from multiple sources
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with others and as a member of a team
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to be a self-starter and recognize and address problem areas

Preferred Requirements:
Physical Demands:        
Ability to use standard office equipment such as PC, telephone, calculator, printer, copy and fax machines. Position may require extended work hours on short notice. All work will be performed in an indoor office environment and may require extended periods of sitting, standing and bending and typing/data entry. The job may also include driving, and airline travel. Travel may be required to attend meetings in other office buildings including local and domestic.
