Junior Trader – Inside Sales Coordinator

Company:          Commercial Steel Products, a member of STEEL ENTERPRISE Group is leading supplier of OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) pipe and prime steel products to a range of industries including oil and gas. The Company's headquarters is in the Greater Uptown/Oak Lawn area of Dallas, TX.

Purpose: Responsible for learning and becoming competent in the account management of current clients. Act as an agent (with moderate autonomy) of the Company to positively affect sales growth and customer service satisfaction by understanding product lines, supply chain lead times and core sourcing competencies, while developing relationships. Ultimately, become a key source, voice, and face of the Company for customers and assist with converting opportunities to sales. By being customer focused, ensure critical timeliness and accuracy of processing and delivery of sold goods.
 
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:
1.     Taking calls, emails, or verbal inquiries from customers. Decipher customer needs and cross reference Company inventory or purchasing capability and lead times in order to predictively offer solutions to customers.   
2.     Ensuring that the demands of the customer can and will be met under the agreed upon terms by verifying real time product availability and logistics capacity. 
3.     Monitor and influence any product processing or value-add service, and manage or influence logistics (receiving, tracking, transferring), and recordkeeping through teamwork in order to meet the demanding sales environment. Complete all documentation including orders, invoices, transfers, etc.
4.     Ensure fulfillment of orders
5.     Analyze and monitor costs, source cost-savings solutions, and act upon cost-saving initiatives wherever discovered.
 
INSIDE SALES SUPPORT:
1.     Communicate regularly with customers or prospective customers.  Remain in contact with current customers in order to identify opportunities for reorders or new opportunities within current customers. 
2.     Become an appreciated and respected professional in the field and use this credibility to further business opportunities and ultimately sales.  
3.     Maintain records or contacts, visits, other communications etc. so that the Company can track conversion of opportunities to sales. 
 
TRADING FACILITATION SUPPORT:
1.     Based on inventory availability, influence purchasing and quickly selling material based on opportunity. Defer to management or other senior positions for execution.
2.     Based on longer term supply and demand analysis and planning, influence the replenishment of materials. Make recommendations on inventory levels based on market understanding and customer opportunity data and defer to management for execution.

Qualifications
Education / Experience:
o  Bachelor’s degree in applicable field (or Associates with 2+ years of steel experience and familiar with 3rd party processors and vendors such as couplings suppliers, threading & yard service providers, and heat treatment vendors)
o  6+ months of business experience working with inventory, systems, and processes.
 
Skills / Abilities:
o  Strong interpersonal skills with ability to both serve customers – internal and external. 
o  Exceptional ability to use software and systems.
o  Thorough and methodical in completing and tracking documents.
o  A PLUS to have used Oracle NetSuite ERP
