Project Manager I

RES

Overview

Are you interested in a career that truly makes an impact? Do you want your job to help make nature and communities better with each project you touch?

At RES, we believe that human progress and the restoration of nature’s resources can go hand in hand. Our belief made us what we are today - the nation’s leading ecological restoration company, with over 300 stream miles restored and conserved, 20,000,000 trees planted, and 15,000 acres of special-status species habitat established. We restore our land and waters with integrity and innovation, one community at a time.

Do you want to be part of a team whose talent and dedication are unmatched in the industry? RES is currently accepting applications for a Project Manager I for Athens GA, or Nashville, TN, reporting to a Sr. Project Manager.

The Project Manager is a key figure in the RES business who supports delivering stream restoration, stream and wetland compensatory mitigation projects, on-time, within the scope, and within budget. He or she constantly communicates with internal and external multi-disciplinary teams (sales, land, permitting, finance, construction), coordinates internal and external resources for the successful execution of all project phases, develop project scopes, schedules, and costs, manages teaming agreements and consultants, and QA/QC.

You will work in a collaborative team that is ready to support your development and work at any time. Be advised that our projects are in several geographical locations around the larger cities, so around 50% day-time road-trip time is expected with no more than 20% overnight stays!

Responsibilities

What your day-to-day might look like:

As a PM I, you will be assigned one mid-sized project or several small projects at a time, and you will be entirely focused on their delivery. You will own all its stages, from conception to completion (under the guidance of the Sr. PM), on schedule and on budget.

You will be responsible for the project budget elaboration, so entry-level experience in budgeting and knowledge of POC is a must. To do so, you will be working with a wide range of subcontractors, who will submit their bids, so experience in estimating and evaluating is also necessary. You will be also evaluating projects based on current regulatory and technical requirements so basic knowledge of those is also required.

Qualifications

We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applied sciences, engineering, or similar field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in applied sciences, engineering, or construction field.
What will make you stand out?
  • Experience with stream restoration and/or wetlands.
  • Experience using project management and scheduling software.
  • Proficiency in GIS and/or AutoCAD.
