The North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board is looking for the right person to help promote our vision statement: Healthy Watersheds, Effective Regulation, Strong Partnerships.

The North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board’s Northern Nonpoint Source and 401 Certification Unit, in the Nonpoint Source & Surface Water Protection Division has an opening for an Environmental Scientist. The position is located in Sonoma County at 5550 Skylane Blvd. Ste A, Santa Rosa, CA 95403.

Duties:
Under the close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisor) and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Board’s Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments. The Environmental Scientist is required to drive on State business. The incumbent will perform staff level activities associated with review of Clean Water Act Section 401 water quality certifications and/or waste discharge requirement applications and issuance of various permits, response to complaints, and enforcement actions.
