Sensor Co-op (July-December 2022)

This role is a 6 month co-op to join AR full time (40 hours/week) from July-December 2022. Amazon Robotics co-op opportunities will be based in the Greater Boston Area, in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough and North Reading, MA. Both campuses provide a unique opportunity for interns to have direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities.

Amazon Robotics automates fulfillment center operations using various methods of robotic technology including autonomous mobile robots, sophisticated control software, language perception, power management, computer vision, depth sensing, machine learning, object recognition, and semantic understanding of commands. Amazon Robotics has a dedicated focus on research and development to continuously explore new opportunities to extend its product lines into new areas. 
Amazon Robotics Sensor team is seeking a talented and motivated electrical engineering student to assist with camera and sensor test, evaluation and development. The ideal candidate will have had experience with and interest in image sensors, optics, testing, learning new technologies and data processing. 

The Sensor Co-op will be responsible for:

Assisting an multidiscipline team of engineers in the research, evaluation, testing and prototyping of sensor products.
Documenting research and creating test plans and test reports for sensors being evaluated.
Creating Python scripts to assist in test automation and data post processing.

The Intern/Co-op must have the following qualifications:

  • Currently working towards a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (or similar field)
  • Classroom and project experience in electrical, firmware, and/or system level design
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a similar field
  • Python coding experience
  • Commitment to rigorous testing practices
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to research and learn new technologies
  • Experience with image sensors is a plus.
