Job Type Details: Full-time; salary w/benefits Monday-Friday 8a-5p w/occasional weekend flex

The role of the Case Manager is to assist and serve the needs of individuals in navigating the criminal justice system. Clients often experience mental health and/or substance abuse disorders and require a Case Manager who is both empathetic and compassionate. The Case Manager should have knowledge of the criminal justice system and act as a neutral party between the client, the District Attorney’s Office, and defense attorneys.

Case Managers will perform observed urine drug and alcohol screening of male clients (collector must be of the same gender as the client providing the sample); provide electronic monitoring services (installing bracelets/entering schedules/reviewing violations, etc.); refer to & have knowledge of available community resources; help ensure the client attends all court appearances and remains arrest-free; provide accurate written reports to the court; enter and maintain case information in the electronic database; and other duties as assigned.

Competencies:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Ability to communicate professionally & accurately, both orally and written
  • Organized, attentive to detail, ability to multi-task, work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals from diverse economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Previous experience working with criminal justice-involved clients preferred

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or related human service field
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and automobile with insurance
  • Passing a pre-employment background check
