Preschool & Adult Dance Instructor Parks & Community Services

Job Summary
Plan and teach Pre-Ballet/Tap combo classes for 3-6-years and Adult Tap at the North Kirkland Community Center. Instructor must possess creativity, flexibility, and be able to provide a safe and stimulating class environment with age-appropriate group activities. Instructor must have tap experience, enjoy working with children and be able to communicate effectively with adults and children. 
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications 
  • Must have six (6) months of related teaching experience.  
  • Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification by start date.  
  • Must successfully complete a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act.  
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Other
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a community center setting, with high levels of noise and seasonal temperature extremes. Must have ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Must be able to walk, climb, bend, and stoop to complete tasks.

Hours of Work
Starting ASAP, Instructor needed for Monday afternoon/evenings.
 
Selection Process
Applicants who are invited to participate in the interview process will be notified by phone or email. Candidates who are selected to interview will be required to complete a criminal background check. Job open until filled with first review of applicants by 15 day of initial posting. 
 
Vaccination requirement
Effective November 8, 2021, all new hires to the City will be required as a condition of employment to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to start date.
