Senior Systems Engineer (CERP) Level 4 (00000294932)

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Systems Engineering team is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to support the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP). The successful candidate is a self-starter with the ability to plan, design, develop, and verify a balanced life-cycle system solution is achieved.  They will be able to engage design teams, and sub-tier suppliers.   This Level 4 position is located in Oklahoma City, OK.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties will include but not limited to:
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • MBSE Integration Lead Experienced with SysML and Universal Architecture Framework (UAF) using CAMEO and is experienced in leading a group. May be expected to lead the B-52 Model Architecture Council (MAC) which is an entity that would provide a cohesive venue for coordinating with B-52 programs and the B-52 platform for implementation of MBSE for the B-52.  
  • Evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Analyzes total system of systems and/or system architecture for optimization.
  • Analyzes quality factors for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes

Security Clearance
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
(An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.)
                             
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.  

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • MBSE Integration Lead Experienced with SysML and Universal Architecture Framework (UAF) using CAMEO and is experienced in leading a group. May be expected to lead the B-52 Model Architecture Council (MAC) which is an entity that would provide a cohesive venue for coordinating with B-52 programs and the B-52 platform for implementation of MBSE for the B-52.  
  • Experience working on developmental programs
  • System Engineering knowledge of requirements management in DOORS and verification trace
  • Experience developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Experience with Aircraft engine operation, integration, controls and displays
  • Previous experience working with systems interfaces
  • Previous experience working with requirements decomposition
  • Experience with verification & validation processes

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+3, Master+5 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
