General Business Internship Experiences: Fort Worth, TX (Current Juniors Only)

Internship Track:
We are currently recruiting for two different internship experiences within GSA! Please see below for additional insight.

FAS Internship Experience:
Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) is a component of GSA that focuses on procuring goods & services for the federal government. This organization has the following positions available:

  • General Business Trainee: The General Business Trainee (1199 Series) is part of the Pathways Internship Program. 

As an intern, you will be expected to help with a range of tasks and will be afforded the opportunity to learn the scope and foundation of GSA/FAS acquisition responsibilities, assisting contract specialists and management with day-to-day operations. Assignments are made with the objective of challenging your abilities and initiative and providing opportunities to display self-motivation. The ultimate goal is to give you a good overview of the organization and set you up for success if you are offered a permanent position after graduation. As an intern, you will be considered for a permanent position with FAS’ Emerging Leaders Program, an entry-level rotational and training program, upon graduation. 

This program will begin June 6, 2022, and go until August 12, 2022. If you are offered a part-time role following the program, that role will begin on August 15, 2022. 

PBS Internship Experience:
Public Buildings Service (PBS) is the landlord and real estate agent for the entire federal government. This organization has the following positions available: 

  • General Business Trainee: The General Business Trainee (1199 Series) is part of the Pathways Internship Program. 

As an intern, you will be expected to help with a range of tasks and will be afforded the opportunity to learn the scope and foundation of GSA/PBS real estate responsibilities, assisting realty specialists and building management specialists with day-to-day operations. Assignments are made with the objective of challenging your abilities and initiative and providing opportunities to display self-motivation. The ultimate goal is to give you a good overview of the organization and set you up for success if you are offered a permanent position after graduation. During the summer program, participants will also receive technical training to help individuals learn about the contracting world. As an intern, you will be considered for a permanent entry-level position with PBS’ Emerging Leaders Program as a Contract Specialist upon graduation. Our entry-level Contract Specialist hires require 24 hours of business credits upon being hired. For this reason, we will only be recruiting juniors with business degrees for this program.

This program will begin in June 2022 and last approximately 6-8 weeks. If you are offered a part-time position, expect to begin shortly after the program ends in the summer.

Who We Are Looking For: 
Talented, motivated students who are looking to build their career at GSA, and who:
  • Are currently juniors who have one full academic year remaining after June 2022 
  • Have completed at least 2 full academic years (or associate's degree) by June 30, 2022
  • Will be completing a bachelor’s degree between May - July 2023
  • Are able to work full-time from June through August 2022
  • Will commit to working part-time during the school year, for a minimum of 168 hours, before graduating in May - July 2023
  • Are U.S. Citizens (As a federal agency, all of our employees must be U.S. Citizens)
