Park Program Coordinator II

As our Parks Program Coordinator II, you will have the opportunity to join our team at LCRA’s West District Parks along the chain of Highland Lakes of Central Texas. This position will lead and continue to develop unique programming to meet LCRA Parks goal of being the most dynamic park system in the nation. You will be trusted to:
  • Develops, coordinates and leads adventure based outdoor activities and educational programs. 
  • Assists in the procurement, development, construction and maintenance of program equipment and facilities. 
  • Develops activities, that are innovative, modern, diverse while being sustainable. 
  • Conducts pre-program orientation with participants on program overview and applicable safety policy. Ensures all safety and health measures are being followed. Responds to comments, questions and complaints from customers. 
  • Prepares and analyzes reports that address the sustainability of each program offered and makes recommendations for program modification or continuance. Observes and evaluates programs taught by other staff to ensure they are aligned with LCRA parks goals. 
  • Assists with the facilitation and development of special events that promote LCRA parks, programs and activities. 
  • Conducts inspections of all required equipment. Cleans and stores equipment after programs. Inventories, repairs, and maintains equipment and supplies to ensure safe operations and aesthetic expected. 
  • Program/event set-up, inspection and support 
  • Provide outstanding customer service to visitors and teammates 
  • Operating with integrity and a focus on safety
You qualify with:
  • Six years or more of related experience. A degree(s) in natural science, education, recreation or a relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. 
  • Driver's license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of developing, facilitating and delivering innovative outdoor experiences and educational programs 
  • Proficient in curriculum and programming protocols. 
  • Skill in the operation of equipment (e. g., truck, trailer, boat, ATV, golf cart, E-Bike, Kayak, SUP etc.) 
  • Skill in providing customer service in a courteous and professional manner 
  • Skill in working safely 
  • Skill in communicating effectively with team members, leadership and the general public 
  • Skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, electronic timesheets, expense reimbursement applications, etc.) 
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision 
  • Ability to work in a team environment 
  • Ability to remain aware of number and whereabouts of visitors and employees 
  • Knowledge and experience providing and developing outdoor experiences for groups of all ages 
  • Knowledge and experience of the safe operations of water-based recreation 
  • Knowledge and experience developing and executing camps.
